UMAMI is a self-branded Japanese ramen and sushi restaurant that blends traditional flavors with a modern twist. Named after the fifth basic taste—meaning “essence of deliciousness” in Japanese—the brand celebrates the rich, savory depth that defines umami. Inspired by the forms and movement of ramen noodles and sushi, I designed the logo to visually capture that harmony of tradition and freshness.
